Biography

Nicole Duarte is an Associate at Schonbuch Hallissy LLP. Her practice focuses on general litigation and insurance defense, with experience handling matters involving premises liability, auto liability, personal injury, and wrongful death matters.

Nicole is a proud Costa Rican who was raised in Fresno, California. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Society from the University of California, Riverside. Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked as a litigation paralegal, where she gained practical experience supporting complex civil litigation matters and developing a strong foundation in case management and trial preparation.

She earned her Juris Doctor from LMU Loyola Law School while working full time as a Judicial Assistant at the California Court of Appeal. During law school, Nicole served as Treasurer of the Evening Student Bar Association and externed for Justice Audra M. Mori, where she assisted with legal research and drafting and participated in appellate decision-making processes.

Through her experience in both trial-level litigation and appellate work, Nicole brings a practical, detail-oriented approach to advocacy and a strong understanding of how cases are evaluated at every stage of the litigation process.
