When not standing at a courtroom lectern, Alexander is most likely seated at a piano, swimming competitively in a pool, or searching with friends and family for an ideal spot to watch the Southern California sun set over the Pacific.

Senior Associate
Biography
Alexander Konetzki is a Senior Associate at Schonbuch Hallissy LLP. A former Chicago prosecutor with extensive civil and criminal litigation experience, Alexander has represented clients in the areas of injury law, medical malpractice, business litigation, business / social enterprise formation, landlord / tenant, government liability / use-of-force, and estate planning. He has managed complex, high-value cases — taking and defending depositions, writing and arguing dispositive motions, and championing his clients’ cases at trial.
For plaintiffs and defendants alike, Alexander has demonstrated excellence in and out of the courtroom. He has been commended for both his oral advocacy and legal writing by judges, mediators, and opposing counsel. As defense counsel, his proactive and efficient approach to litigation consistently results in settlements for his clients representing a fraction of the amount initially demanded. As plaintiff counsel, he was tenacious in his advocacy, handling every stage of cases against individuals, corporations, hospital systems, and even a major American archdiocese. As a criminal prosecutor, Alexander advocated in court daily to detain some of Chicago’s most dangerous criminals while they awaited trial, in the wake of Illinois legislation that made it more procedurally challenging to detain them. His success rate in seeking pre-trial detention was among the highest in one of the largest prosecutorial offices in the United States.
In an era of hyper specialization among lawyers, the breadth of this experience is rare. It allows Alexander to thoroughly understand both sides of a conflict, which makes him an outstanding advocate for and counselor to his clients. For Alexander, helping clients through their most difficult moments and making their case to a jury—an art that foreshadowed the development of democracy in Ancient Athens—is what makes law worth practicing.
